Laurie Walsh, PhD Anthropology Professor
." — Sydney J. Harris
When I was a kid, I became fascinated by archaeology. While my family supported me,
I hold three degrees in anthropology. After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree, 我想从那些以狩猎采集者为生的人那里了解他们生活的地方, tools, and foods they used meant to them. After several years of course work and grant writing, I traveled to Australia's Western Desert to work with Mantjiltjarra people; these Aboriginal people had lived fully traditional lives up to the 1950s through 1984. 从他们的记忆中,我能够理解他们在传统生活中使用的地方和物品的社会意义, before they settled down into modern communities.
As a professor in anthropology,
